Clear billing ownership reduces support load, protects member trust, and creates reliable inputs for finance and product decisions.
First 6–12 month outcomes
- Document billing controls, exception queues, and escalation paths for failed payments, refunds, and disputes within approved authority.
- Establish a repeatable reconciliation process between the platform, Stripe, and operational records.
- Reduce time-to-resolution for billing-related member inquiries through SOPs and coordination with Customer Support.
- Produce recurring billing metrics useful to leadership.
- Partner with product and engineering on billing UX improvements grounded in observed member confusion patterns.
Responsibilities
- Operate day-to-day member subscription billing workflows in coordination with the platform and Stripe.
- Manage payment exceptions, refunds, and disputes within human-approved financial authority limits.
- Reconcile platform billing records with payment-provider data; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain billing SOPs, escalation paths, and audit-friendly documentation.
- Coordinate with Customer Support on billing-question resolution without owning general support ticket queues.
- Identify systematic billing issues and partner with product and engineering on durable fixes.
- Protect member privacy and handle payment data according to approved policies.
Required qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in billing operations, reconciliation, or subscription billing support.
- Comfort working with payment systems and exception queues with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to write clear SOPs and communicate billing issues to non-finance stakeholders.
- Sound judgment when handling sensitive member billing situations.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Stripe or similar subscription billing platforms.
- Familiarity with SaaS or membership business models.
- Experience coordinating with customer support and product teams on billing UX.
- Spanish language skills for cross-border context.
