Is Paws Beyond Borders insurance?

No. We are a membership platform, not insurance. You get percentage-based coverage at partner clinics. Discounts are applied instantly at checkout—no claims, no deductibles.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?

Yes. Pre-existing conditions are covered. Waiting periods still apply for certain procedure categories (wellness, illness, surgery, orthopedic) from your membership start date.

What are the waiting periods?

Consultation: immediate. Wellness: 7 days. Illness: 14 days. Surgery: 30 days. Orthopedic: 90 days. Dental, diagnostics, and medication have their own periods—check the pricing page for details.

How does the annual cap work?

Each plan has an annual cap per pet (e.g., $1,000 for Bronze, $10,000 for Platinum). Coverage is applied until you reach the cap within the year. The cap resets on your annual reset date.

Can I use this nationwide?

Yes. Membership is nationwide. You can visit any of our partner clinics—currently 5 in Tijuana, with more locations planned.

Do I need to use transportation?

No. Transportation is optional. You can drive yourself or use your own transport. Higher-tier plans include transportation benefits if you want them.

What's the 3-month minimum commitment?

When you sign up, you commit to at least 3 months of membership. After that, you can cancel anytime. The first month is $9 for all plans.

How do clinics get reimbursed?

When you pay the discounted price at the clinic, we reimburse the clinic for the covered amount. The clinic handles the reimbursement process with us—you just pay your portion.
